Catalyst Now is seeking a person to support expansion of Brazilian chapter Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst Now is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time.
Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst Now members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all.
About the Chapters Team
Catalyst Now offers the candidate the opportunity to work with members of Brazilian chapter and colleagues from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate has a background in public relations, humanities, economy, administration, socioenvironmental organisations, communication and has experience in leading fundraising efforts.
The chapter volunteer team of Catalyst Now Brazil works with the different members of the network in supporting them with their initiatives in the different existing working groups as well as in their different areas of work. We are currently looking for a person that can develop and present fundraising proposals to support local activities of coalition of members and/or for the chapter itself. The person will be working closely with the country chair, co-chair and board.
Responsibilities
● Research of potential funding opportunities – national/international – for local activities.
● Proactively identify coalition of members that are suited for such funding opportunities
● Develop and coordinate proposal crafting in alignment with local members.
● Refine CatalystNOW Brazil chapter instituttional materials.
● Any other ad hoc tasks as needed Requirements and Skills
● Proven Fundraising experience, preferrably with companies and foundations (NOT focused on incentive laws)
● Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, in a fast-paced environment and sometimes across time zones
● An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances ● Fluency in Portuguese, intermediate English (fluent English is a plus)
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience
● Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a hands-on, positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges and look for solutions
● Ability to work in a multicultural and global digital environment, with cultural sensitivity
